This is an introduction to two members of the new University of Suffolk Business Development team, Beth Sowersby and Michael Johnson, and an overview of why these roles have been created and how we can potentially work together.

About:
The Business Development team at the University of Suffolk is composed of highly-experienced individuals connected to areas of specialism at each of the different schools, institutes and academies at the university. We work together closely to match the needs of local businesses or all types and sizes to the capabilities of the university.
Beth Sowersby has enjoyed a long career in broadcasting working as a producer in the UK and US on entertainment and factual programming for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Sky and NBC amongst others. Since moving across into Higher Education 6 years ago, she has been involved in knowledge exchange and innovation. She helped set up The Ideas Factory Innovation Centre at Norwich University of the Arts and most recently has been working on the EIRA project for the UEA as the Digital Creative and AI lead.
Michael Johnson joined UOS after a varied career in enterprise which started with 13 years in the RAF and then took him, via Italy, to the USA where he honed his skills as a senior manager with companies such as AT&T, CenturyLink, and T-Mobile. Mike is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership & Management and Member of the Institute of Directors.
