Ipswich & Suffolk Tech Network

The board was formed after research conducted by the New Anglia LEP showed the need to align the work of technology and digital services firms with education.

ISTN is looking to provide strategic direction and leadership in Suffolk to ensure promotion and support for students within Ipswich and Suffolk. We plan to work with schools, colleges and universities to create a greater understanding of the ISTN sectors and to help address any skills gaps.

Commenting on the ISTN formation, the chair, Sam Parnell remarked, ‘We know Suffolk performs well for tech and digital and amazing resources like the Ipswich based Creative Computing Club make a huge difference in the quality of advanced education we offer. Our sector is keen to see a solid skills pipeline and our board plans on bringing industry and students together to bridge that gap and empower Suffolk’s students.'‘

About Us

We want Suffolk and the East Region to be at the heart of the UK’s digital and technological community. We feel that anything and everything that helps to achieve this is a good use of our time. This has already started! Our teams work hard to position us as a leader in this space, and we want that to continue.

How We Work

ISTN brings advanced education, bridging the skills gap for individuals in their education journey. The Tech and digital community in the region is huge, with bundles of talent for innovation and skilled professionals but slightly segregated. Through our community approach of collaboration we aim to bring everyone together to build a stronger community to give young talent a platform to find their place in industry.
